The DD and DS right angle board-in insulation displacement connectors measure just 3.5mm (.138") in mounting height and 4.3mm (.169") in width.
Since these right angle connectors are connected to wires running parallel to the printed circuit board, electronic equipment can have a lower profile.
These connectors are suited for the high density wiring of electronic products.
These connectors are very small, with a mounting height of 3.5mm (.138") and a thickness of jsut 4.3mm (.169").
- Twin U-slot insulation displacement section
The insulation displacement section to which the wire is connected is composed of two highly reliable tin-plated slots (twin U-slots).
- Compliant locking solder tails
The contact solder tails are elastic and have two locking positions, both of which ensure stable connection once inserted into a printed circuit board. The two locking positions of the DD connector are asymmetrical and best suited for use with 0.8mm (.031") and 1.0mm (.039") thick printed circuit boards. The two locking positions of the DS connector are also asymmetrical for use with 1.2mm (.047") and 1.6mm (.063") thick PC boards.
Thanks to the strain relief construction, the wire insulation is held by the housing when the wire is terminated. Furthermore, sufficient clearance is provided between the insulation displacement section and the strain relief section to ensure decoupling from vibration and tension.
